Devi represents strength, morality, power and protection. Goddess Durga is the divine mother, who protects people from evil forces of selfishness, jealousy, hatred, anger and ego. Durga Devi Mantras form the part of prayers offered to the goddess. Mantras for Maa Durga are as follows:

Na Mantram No Yantram Tadapi Cha Na Jane Stutimaho Na Chavhanam Dhyanam Tadapi Cha Na Jane Stutikathah I
Na Jane Mudraste Tadapi Cha Na Jane Vilapanam Param Jane Matastvadanusaranam Kleshaharanam II

Meaning: O Maa Durga! I don't know any prayer or any magical summons to invoke you. Neither I know any mantra and have no idea how to meditate on you. I don't know your story or glory as well. I neither know your various postures nor am I given to crying in distress. The only thing I know is that seeking shelter under your protection and following your command will definitely end all sufferings.

Vidheragyanen Dravinavirhenalasataya Vidheyashakyatvattva Charanyorya Chyutirbhut I
Tadetat Kshantavyam Janani Sakaloddharini Shive Kuputro Jayet Kwachidapi Kumata Na Bhavti II

Meaning: O Durga, assure salvation to all troubled, I don't know how to worship you. Until the time those desires are fulfilled, we have a constant ache for them. And, if the desires are very deep-rooted and desperate (vaasanas), it spoils our peace of mind and creates a lot of negative Karma. So, we have to handle desires in a very mature manner. If they are easily attainable, we should of course go ahead and fulfils them.

But, if they seen impossible, we should work for it yet surrender to GOD. Because, we with our limited mental outlook, do not know if fulfilling a particular desire is good for us or not, Only God, the All-knowing, knows that.

So, if we have leaved it to him, we are saved from pain. For example, if we want to go on holiday and our destiny and karma do not allow it and we force the issue, chances are that we might meet with accident or theft. Sometimes people pray so desperately for a child and sometimes when they do got one, that child breaks their hearts, where as if we surrender to God's will, negative karma would not accrue to us.

The BHAGVAD GEETA states that any devotes going to god with a desire, whether it is money, health or God himself, is granted these wishes because ultimately the devotee will come to GOD to ask for freedom from death and re-birth. So long as desire is within us, we will never attain enlightment because for that we need to be totally cleared inside. If we keep calling out to God and are attuned to Him constantly. He will let us know whether a particular desire is worth fulfilling or not. Also when we leave things in his hands circumstances happen in such a manners that we receives an answer from him. Desire actually hampers us attaining God. So, next time we have a desire we should do our best to attain it in a proper manner.

But if it isn't happening despite everything, let us understand and let go.

Dead Soul

Fly me to MOON

With my wings of faithThis heart will learn to flyKeep your windows
open
Let this love come inside
With your hands in mine
This life will
pass me by
Eternity to sleep in peace
Yet no time for goodbyes

Fly
me to the moon
Sing for me your lullaby
Mirror would lie your
beauty
Simply look in my eye
With my will to dream
These nightmares
would cry
Hear voices my love
Its time for me to die
